Britain’s network of canals is an historic system, and occasional restrictions can occur due to low water levels, essential maintenance, or unexpected infrastructure issues.
If conditions change, we focus on keeping your holiday enjoyable rather than cancelled.
Starting from Gailey Wharf gives you excellent flexibility. Even when parts of the wider network are affected, there are several proven out-and-back cruising routes available, including trips towards the Black Country Living Museum, the Potteries, and Fradley Junction. These routes have remained navigable even during more challenging seasons.
Before your holiday, we monitor Canal & River Trust notices and local conditions closely. If anything is likely to affect your plans, we’ll contact you in advance to discuss realistic route options.
During your trip, we’re always happy to help you adjust your cruising plans if needed — whether that means suggesting alternative destinations, shorter cruising days, or different stopping points.
While no operator can guarantee that the entire canal network will always be open, we do everything we can to ensure your time afloat is relaxing, flexible and well-supported.
